hi frank ,on the right side top of engine there is a hose aka crankcase breather hose,this runs to air box above battery on left side.you do accumulate gas fumes in motor commonly called blowby gases,these are routed to air box to be reburned,polution device .same principle as pcv valve system on automobile,the hose you refer to on bottom is a drain for the accumulation of moisture .so its actually accumulation of gas fumes,oil,and moisture when you drain.I leave mine unplugged so there is no accumulation in my air box ,aside from me not wanting to burn what i consider to be dirty stuff running thru my engine.I also have the one from the head diconnected and ran down to bottom of bike like drain.I guess im just a dirty polluter with a clean engine on my savage .KTRSD CHALOOTS
